Cleaning and Domestic Support

Pink Comfort's Commonwealth Home Support Program services offer a helping hand to those who need some extra support to continue living independently in their own home in South East Sydney & Nepean Region.

Overview

Domestic Assistance assists CHSP clients with domestic chores to maintain their capacity to manage everyday activities in a safe, secure and healthy home environment, including time limited services to support wellness and reablement goals.

It can include:

Join a Sporting Club

Dishwashing

Clothes Washing and Ironing

House Cleaning

Collection of Firewood (in remote areas)

Shopping (unaccompanied)

Help with Meal Preparation (where this is not the primary focus of service delivery)

washing of household linen or provision and laundering of linen, usually by a separate laundry facility.

Domestic Assistance services may also include demonstrating and encouraging the use of techniques, specific aids and equipment to improve the person’s capacity for self-management, build confidence and support client participation where appropriate.

What Does It Cost?

If you're eligible for CHSP services in your home, you'll need to make a personal contribution. The Australian Government heavily subsidises our Commonwealth Home Support Programme, ensuring your fees remain affordable. Typically, you will contribute around $13 per hour for domestic assistance. Plus, there are no exit fees or hidden charges under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme.

Weekday (6am - 6pm)

General House Cleaning:
Linen Services(cloth washing and ironing),
Unaccompanied Shopping(delivered to home)

$13 per hour

Cancellations

When a service is cancelled with less than 48 hours prior notice,100% of the fee will apply.

Hours of service

Services are not provided under CHSP between the hours of 8pm– 6am, Weekends and Public Holidays. If you require support during out of service time please speak to your Coordinator for alternate options.

Out Of Scope Activities under this Service Type

The level and frequency of Domestic Assistance services delivered to a client must directly relate to ensuring client safety in the home.

We do not give financial advice or offer to assist with managing a person’s finances. Accompanied shopping, bill paying and attendance at appointments are not included under Domestic Assistance but are included under Social Support -Individual.

Domestic Assistance providers are not expected to move or re-arrange heavy furniture or items that may put them at risk of injury or harm. Domestic Assistance providers are not expected to undertake larger spring cleans. End of lease cleans are considered to be out of scope.
